Fatmata Sankoh, who claims to be the wife of the late rebel leader, Foday Saybana Sankoh, is reported to have been arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Freetown for allegedly defrauding foreign investors the colossal sum of $260,000.

According to our source, Fatmata Sankoh went with a huge quantity of counterfeit gold for sale to the Egyptian investors who own the Horse Fishing Company at Jui where she fooled the investors into believing that the fake stuff was pure gold. The unsuspecting investors reportedly gave her an advance payment of $260,000 only for them to find out later that they had started paying for fake gold.

The Egyptian investors alerted the police who subsequently apprehended and detained Fatmata Sankoh who is now helping the police in their investigation.
