The Sierra Leone Police Force and all other police forces in the world are expected to be very impartial when discharging their duties. A police officer is supposed to execute state laws without any iota of bias.  (Photo: IG Munu)

However, there is one Inspector Aruna in the Sierra Leone Police who does not seem to be executing his duties neutrally. Recently, I witnessed a drama unfolding between the said police officer and a medical practitioner, Dr. Ryan Coker who went to park his Mercedes Benz car along the road leading to State House via the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters.

Although many other vehicles were parked along the road, Inspector Aruna ordered Dr. Coker not to park his car along the road for reasons I cannot tell. Why Inspector Aruna singled out Dr. Coker not to park where other cars were parked is the question that keeps puzzling me.

Inspector Aruna must have given the instruction for safety reasons since the road is leading to the highest house in the country. But why did the police Inspector not order all the other vehicles not to park along the road?

What made matters worse was that Inspector Aruna verbally molested the medical practitioner during the altercation that ensued following his (Aruna’s) order that Dr. Coker should not park along the road.

That is not the way to do good policing, so, the Inspector-General of Police, Francis Munu must warn Inspector Aruna.
