Peninsular Fishing Agency and Chegcohg Fishing Company join the Ebola Fight

Freetown, July, 25, 014 (MOHS) – The Proprietor of Peninsular Fishing Agency and Chegcohg Fishing Company Kent Village has donated Le.20 million and a consignment of Aquatabs (Chlorine), boxes of gloves and a carton of Dettol soap to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in the fight against the Ebola virus disease.

Making the presentation in the Ministry’s conference hall at Youyi Building in Freetown, the Proprietor, Mr. Alfred Badara Turay, commended the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for their efforts in the fight against the deadly disease.

He called on Sierra Leoneans not to under-estimate the reality of the disease, noting that it affects the country’s economy and human resource development.

Mr. Turay noted the clarion call of President Koroma in the fight, which he said should encourage every patriotic citizen to give the necessary support against the deadly disease, and hope his donation would help complement government’s efforts.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, the Director of Support Services, Mr. Mohamed Daboh, commended Peninsular Fishing Agency and Chegcohg Fishing Company for the donation, describing the donation as a generous gesture that would help contribute towards the fight against the Ebola disease in the country.

Mr. Daboh reminded his audience that Ebola is not a respecter of person, tribe or religion, adding that the donation came at a time when it is urgently needed to combat the disease. He said the gesture demonstrates his patriotism as a true sierra Leonean, hoping that others would emulate his foot-steps.
