USA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued warning to all people to avoid nonessential travel to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.

As the deadly Ebola virus continues to spread across West Africa, the Sierra Leone national team has been banned from traveling abroad for international matches Football Sierra Leone understands.

Latest report indicated to FSL UK that this will most likely affect Sierra Leone’s first Group Stage matches listed for 10/09/14 hosting DR Congo, if the virus continues to worsen.

The Sierra Leone national team was squad banned not to enter Seychelles for an African Nations Cup qualifier from Nairobi, Kenya, as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has sparked health fears across the world.

CDC reiterated that over the past few weeks over 700 people have died from the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria.

NEXT round of AFCON 2015 Qualifiers

Sierra Leone joins Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon and DR Congo in group D for the final phase of qualification for AFCON 2015.

Group D qualifiers are scheduled to be player in September – November 2014.
