General Washingai has citizens rejoicing in streets

Mr. Ibrahim Washingai Mansaray (aka General Washingai), deputy Transport and Aviation Minister (the youngest deputy minister in Sierra Leone), today has citizens rejoicing in the street over the decision to extend the implementation date of the ban of registering and operating right hand drive vehicles to 31st December 2014.  (Photo: Ibrahim Washingai Mansaray)

Mr. Mansaray told this press that in collaboration with Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) it was decided that with the Ebola health crisis and the subsequent economic downturn, citizens of the country are facing undue financial hardship and it would cut off the livelihood of many families who depend on the income from right hand drive vehicles if the initial ban date of 1st September 2014 was implemented.
