Christadelphian Meal -A- Day Pikin Dem lectured on Ebola

As the fight against the deadly Ebola virus intensifies, the Christadelphian Meal –A- Day Pikin Dem has on Friday 22nd August 2014 held a one day sensitization on ways of preventing the Ebola Virus.

Speaking to parents/guidance and children the coordinator of the Christadelphian Meal –A- Day Pikin Dem Mrs. Nancy King inform parents and their children that the Ebola virus is real and it kills. She further encourages parent and guidance to control and keep their children at home as the health of the children is very paramount. We are concern about the health of children especially street children she noted. She also mentioned that they should be mindful of all preventive measure to keep their children free from the Ebola virus.

In addressing parents/guidance and their children the Assistance Director Don Bosco Mr. Samuel Bojohn thanked the Christadelphian Meal-A-Day Pikin Dem for giving him the opportunity to sensitize parent and their children about the Ebola virus. He noted that they at Don Bosco are gear towards love for children as with love you can change the worst of Jezebel. He said that children are at high risk of contacting the virus than the rest of the population as they go out to play with their friends. He stated that they at Don Bosco have for long started the Ebola Sensitization even when the outbreak was in neighbouring Guinea. He called on all parent to join in the fight as it concern everybody. If the Ebola virus continues for the next two months it will be disastrous he added. He advice parent to take great care of their children as children are vulnerable. He further encourage them to adhear to the preventive measures by washing their hands frequently, avoiding body contact with suspected persons and also abstain from eating bush meat. He also reiterated that parent should keep their children at home especially those who go out to play and watch film at neighbouring houses. Mr. Bojohn also noted that parent should be mindful of all signs and symptoms as early detection could be cured as 227 people have been treated and discharged. He also encourages parent/guidance to take advantage of the situation by keeping their children busy at home with their books.

Also Mr. Mohamed kallon a social worker also reiterated that Ebola is real and encourage parent to adhear to the preventive measures to keep their children safe from Ebola.

In his statement Bro. Paul Morovia an Elder of the Christadelphian Bible Mission stated that this is the time for people to come close to God as we are in the last days and these are some of the signs. He encourages parent and their children to be prayerful as with prayers we can overcome he noted. At the end of the sensitization parent/guidance were presented with buckets and chlorine for them to be washing their hands.
