To take up office…Trade and Cultural Attaché set for China

Sierra Leone’s Trade and Cultural Attaché to China, Lansana Fadika, will this coming Sunday, July 19, 2015, leave the shores of this country to officially take up office after his recent appointment by His Excellency the President, Ernest Bai Koroma.

Lansana Fadika’s appointment is part of President Koroma’s vision to empower the youths and a glaring manifestation of the president’s patriotic character of recognizing the efforts of those who have contributed tremendously to the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone.

In an exclusive interview, Lanasana Fadika lavished praise on President Koroma for appointing him to serve the nation in such a high capacity and pledged to serve the country to the best of his ability and in accordance with the law.

Profile of the Attaché

Lansana Fadika was born on the 25th September, 1958, at the Magazine Court in the heart of Freetown. He attended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School in Freetown where he sat to the General Certificate Examination (GCE O’Level) and came out with flying colors. In 1987, he got an Associate Degree in Business Administration from a renowned institution called Abraham Baldwin Tifton in Georgia, United States of America. From 1987 to 1989, Fadika attended the Virginia Technical Institute of Tecnology where he graduated with a Diploma in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Lansana Fadika has a wealth of work experience after serving the Marriott Residence Inn in Atlanta, USA as Engineering Supervisor and also served the Summerfield Suite in Georgia, USA in a similar capacity. He was the Managing Director of Regent Star International, Taiwan, an international commodity trading company based in Taiwan with branch offices in Asia and Africa.

Fadika was also the Country Director of Bontak Holding Limited, a multi-faceted company based in Hong Kong with branch offices in Asia, Europe and Africa.

Before joining the APC, Lansana Fadika was the Western Regional Chairman of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and his breaking away from the SLPP along with Usu Boie and others had an adverse impact on the party.
