After Allegedly Stealing over Le 100m Heavily Armed Robbers Remanded

Justice Sam Margai of the Freetown High Court has commenced sitting on the matter between the State vs three roving armed robbers, Mohamed Aruna, Edmond Kanu and Mohamed Lamin Kamara.

The roving robbers armed with 0zzy machine gun serial number 002977 are accused of attacking innocent people including Amara Kanu, Samuel Joseph Koroma, Martin Mansaray, Isatu Saffa and Samuel Foray, robbing them valuable items like mobile phones, Lap Top Computers, shoes and other items including cash money amounting to over Le105M.

The accused persons are alleged to have on 29th June, 2012 robbed the various items and cash in Tongo field and Kenema .The matter was initially charged to court in Kenema Magistrate Court but was later transferred to Freetown due to the its gravity.

Principal State Counsel, Lawyer Monfred Momoh Sesay who is representing the State alongside AGM Bockarie requested for an adjournment in order to respond to the affidavit filed by the Defence Counsel Lawyer Festus. B.Conteh. The accused persons since their detention at the correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown, have been refused bail.

The matter will come up for hearing on 6th August, 2015.
