SLBL hands over sanitation materials to Wellington Community

The Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Brewery Limited (SLBL), Alphonse Willy Ngana (in photo), has handed over a consignment of sanitation materials to the Wellington community during a colorful ceremony on Saturday, August 22nd, 2015, at the company’s office in the Wellington Industrial Estate at the East-end of Freetown. The presented materials were part of the Heineken Africa Foundation (HAF) funded project amounting to Le 2.9 billion.

While presenting the sanitation materials, the SLBL Managing Director noted that the water and sanitation component of the HAF project, spearheaded by the Councilor of Ward 352, was the most transparent and credible as it underwent a complete tendering, bidding and procurement process. The project, he furthered, will provide jobs for fifty unemployed youths who will be responsible to clean the Wellington community.

Ngana maintained that the SLBL is fully committed to the welfare of the people of Sierra Leone that is why the company and its partners fund local community projects and ensure that such projects are implemented in a transparent and credible fashion, free of doubt.

He furthered that as a corporate body SLBL understands the dire needs of communities and is fully aware that the Wellington community has been in dire need of a water and sanitation project that is why the company has intervened to mitigate the suffering of the people.

“Our support today does not end here; it is the beginning of a new era in Wellington with more sustainable projects intended to improve the livelihoods of our people,” Ngana concluded.
