‘Hon. Abdul Salam Kanu, where is the money’ – Constituents of 101 ask

The people of Constituency 101 in Kissy in the east end of Freetown, have expressed concern that since the Government gave about sixty three million Leones each to Members of Parliament in October this year as Constituency Development Fund, Hon. Abdul Salam Kanu representing Constituency 101 has not called a meeting with them to decide on what development projects they should undertake in the constituency.

They further stated that they have even made some attempts to meet Hon. Kanu and discuss the issue but that they have not been successful in meeting him at his home at Samuels Old Road, at Kissy or at his Alsalaam Water Company along Bye Pass Road, also in Kissy.

They say they are not pleased with the attitude of their Parliamentarian who they say does not call meetings to discuss issues with them.

They described him as “the invisible Parliamentarian” who they only see during campaign time.

In a bid to give him the opportunity to respond to these allegations and throw light on how he intends to spend the money, this Reporter made several calls to his mobile phone on 076926888 which he did not answer. He also did not call back.

Meanwhile, some youth groups in the constituency have explained to this paper that they intend to call a meeting soon where they will invite him to explain to them about the money.
