United We Stand Divided We Fall Hon Ansu Kaikai Warns

Indeed throughout history people and communities have been made to suffer in organizations more especially political parties where disunity is prevalent like the ongoing skirmishes the Sierra Leone People’s party (SLPP) where Ansu Kiakai laments on the ugly scenario that is currently affecting the sustainable peace and stability within the party hierarchy  Hon Ansu Kaikai’s concern is the current  impass  within the party and the confrontations between supporters of one intending candidate and the other. Hon Ansu Kaikai from Constituency 87 in the Pujehum district is the longest serving member of parliament service 1996.

Before becoming a member of parliament during the proportional representation system Hon Ansu Kaikai and few others worked very hard to redeem the SLPP from oblivion in the early 1990 s. Hon Ansu Kaikai is now poised  to go in for the contest for leadership of the SLPP for 2017/2018 president and parliamentary elections. According to Hon Ansu Kaikai whatever may have happened in the recent past or may be happening now within the party would only be attributed to over ambitiousness with no regard to the rule of law and order. Hon Ansu Kaikai is determined to go in for the race because the present unusual behavior of the supporters of Maada Bio and those of Dr Kandeh Yumukella has become unbearable.

RTD brigadier Maada Bio contested for the leadership of SLPP 2005 in Makeni and lost. He went in for the second time and won but could not emerge as a winner in presidential and parliamentary elections in 2012. Thus the emergence of other aspirants like me and Yumkella should not be viewed as a threat Hon Ansu Kaikai maintained

As members of one family everybody has the right to vie for the covetous seat of leadership for the SLPP. How can we be sure that living in animosity against each other cannot breed everlasting chaos? Hon Ansu Kaikai asked.

At the end of the SLPP national delegates contest who will survive and who will not can only be determined by the popular choice of the people and not by force of arm struggle or intimidation Hon Ansu Kaikai concluded.
