As Vincent Kanu Laid to Rest … Maada Bio Joined Mourners

The former Head of State of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Rtd. Brig. Bio joined mourners across the country in Makeni City to lay to rest renowned Sierra Leone businessman, Vincent Kanu, on Friday 5th February 2016.

Commenting on the sad loss, Rtd. Brig. Bio said: “The late Vincent Kanu was a respected entrepreneur who made a huge contribution to our economy. He was also a generous man who helped many of his compatriots. The huge number of mourners here in Makeni and their diverse backgrounds has shown that as a country we recognise his national contribution and we are united in grief.”

The civic funeral services of Vincent Kanu took place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Cathedral in Makeni. He was buried at the Wusum Hotel Gardens, Teko Road, Makeni. He passed away in London on 11th January 2016 at the age of 73.

Rtd. Brig. Bio was also in attendance with his wife, Fatima Bio, the deputy National Chairman and Leader of SLPP, Dr. Prince Harding and many senior opposition politicians.

Also in attendance included President Koroma, Vice President Victor Foh, former SLPP’s Vice President Solomon Berewa, Government Ministers, Members of Parliament and members of the business community.
