Olimpija sign Sierra Leone star Julius Woobay until 2017

Olimpija Ljubljana have recruited Sierra Leone’s Julius Woobay (in photo) on a one-and-half year deal the club announced on their twitter page, to keep him at the club until 2017

The 31-year-old attacking midfielder who has played 37 times for his country, has scored more than 55 goals at club level, including 15 for Azerbaijan side Neftchi_Baku_PFK during the 2012 -15 is now ready to test himself in Slovenia.

Olimpija Ljubljana currently plays in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, the country’s highest division of football.

Olimpija started competing in the Slovenian Fifth League during the 2005–06 season and have managed to achieve promotion in four successive seasons, eventually reaching the top division for the first time in 2009, after they have won the 2008–09 Slovenian Second League.

Apart from winning the Slovenian fifth, fourth, third and second divisions, the club has no major success since its foundation.

The Former East End Lions attacking midfielder is unavailable to comment. He started his career at EE Lions and has also had spells with Onisilos Sotira where he played 12 matches and scored three goals, Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, Universitatea Craiova in Romania, Aris Limassol, Khazar Lankaran & Al-Masry in Egypt.
