Diasporans Demand the Recall of Ambassador Bockarie Stevens from the USA

I have never seen an Ambassador duplicating his duties and functions as a functionary of government and representative of the President of Sierra Leone, as Ambassador Bockarie Stevens is doing in the U.S.Â Sierra Leone is yearning for investors to boost the shattered economy of the country which should be the task of this honorable ambassador instead of involving in self-destructive politics.

The president talks about rebranding Sierra Leone to portray the image of the country, but here an Ambassador in the first world (USA), side-tracking all these important agendas of the president instead he is getting involved in personal interest and trying to damage and disintegrate the very forces that financially and morally made President Koroma and the APC party to be where they are today.

Since Ambassador Bockari Stevens was designated to the U.S., his character and image has become questionable.Â Â Is President Koroma trying to reward the family of Siaka Stevens even though they are incompetent and designing ways to cripple his administration?Â President Ernest Koroma, you should know that gone are the days for allegiance to Siaka Stevens family that supersedes the interest of the people of Sierra Leone.Â Sierra Leone is for all Sierra Leoneans irrespective of your status, education or ethnicity.

Ambassador Bockari Stevens is a nuisance and a confusionist who is trying to cripple President Koroma’s administration and usher his hidden agenda.Â His continuous meddling in the APC North America Â affairs with the help of his surrogate level-headed Secretary General, Mr. Victor Foh is creating pandemonium and division in APC North America Â branch which stood by President Koroma and supported him until he won the elections in 2007.

Ambassadors take oath to represent the interest of their citizens without prejudice.Â Therefore, ambassadors should be very cautious to meddle with civil or political organizations that have nothing to do with their functions.Â The APC dogma of “Attitudinal Change” will hardly be accomplished by designers themselves if the manipulative behavior such as that of Ambassador Bockarie Stevens is tolerated.Â The chemistry of change carries some modicums of reciprocal behavior intended to influence effective social interaction based on time, circumstances and environmental factors.

Mr. President here is quote from famous a politician I would like for you to contemplate on:

“Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government’s purposes are beneficial.Â Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded people.Â The greater dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.”Â (Alexis de Toqueville, 1928)

Alexis warned about “the kind of despotism to which democratic societies are usually and especially susceptible …the passion for equality will give rise to a certain kind of degradation in which citizens will surrender their freedom democratically to a tutelary power.”Â

The reason why Sierra Leoneans find themselves in position of impotency is not because of poverty and illiteracy but rather because of the traitorous actions of those who have been treated so well by you Mr. President and continue enjoy the legacy of the old corrupt system.Â Â It has not been the less fortunate for people who seek your interest, but rather those who have had all the benefits that the country can offer . . . the finest homes, the finest college education and the finest jobs in government you can give.

In the interest of unity and harmony among APC partisans in North America and Sierra Leoneans in general we demand the immediate removal of Ambassador Bockari Stevens from the U.S.Â His removal will create peace and harmony among the APC chapters in the U.S. which are presently on the verge of disintegrating through the machinations and manipulations of Ambassador Bockarie Stevens.
