In its bid to provide leadership in the fight against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Commission ACC will on the 9th of December this year award scholarships to individual citizens and organizations that stand out in the holding of integrity in the country. This according to an ACC release will be done in recognition of  the efforts and commitment of its partners both individuals and organizations in the fight against corruption menace in the country.
According to the release, the Commission will be inviting the general public to nominate individuals from all walks of life, or companies, organizations, and institutions within the public or private sector that have demonstrated an uncompromising commitment to high ethical standards in Sierra Leone in terms of corruption. The National Integrity Award the release said seeks to acknowledge individuals and institutions with integrity and to make them a source of inspiration in the combat of corruption.
The release notes that nominations must include the name of the nominee and in not more than 500 words the reasons for the nomination which should be sent to ACC offices in Freetown and rest of the country.
“Nominations will be accepted by the Commission until the close of business on 16th November 2009. An Independent Award Committee will decide and the presentation will be made at a special ceremony on the 9th December 2009” the ACC release said.
