President Koroma investigate Victor Foh

Author: SEM Contributor

Dear Editor:  I have been keenly following the reports about how Mr. Victor Bockarie Foh, Secretary General of the APC took the odd decision of using his political connections to take over the house of Dr. Abdallah in Kenema, and has now transformed it into the APC party headquarters.

The APC is now in governance and as such there is a need for them to show concern for law and order.

As we talk of a new APC order, there is also the need for us to talk of change which means we should not be seeing the ugly past. I know Dr. Abdallah personally, and I must say I am shocked that such an eminent citizen should be the victim of such a mischievous act. Dr. Abdallah has been one of the respected dental surgeon specialists that Sierra Leone has ever had. He worked earnestly and has served in nearly all the districts in the country, including Kenema where he decided to build a house together with his wife.

I have been following the progress of the case between Victor Foh and Dr. Abdallah and I know that it was Victor Foh who caused the elderly doctor to flee from this country during the junta government of Maada Bio. During that time, members of the APC were being prosecuted and were suffering various indignities by the khaki boys.

During this time, this same Victor Foh wrote a letter to Maada Bio, claiming that Dr. Abdallah is a member of the APC, a party, which Foh said has destroyed Sierra Leone. Mr. Foh’s goal at the time and still is, to claim ownership of the doctor’s house in Kenema. This same Victor Foh who was prosecuting people who were regarded as APC under the military junta of Maada Bio, and is now the secretary general of the same APC, still continues to create hell for an innocent man who served with no blemish in this country unlike him who was arrested for criminal activities.

I am calling on President Koroma not to be carried away by sweet talks especially from Foh as this will not be in the interest of good governance.

Please Mr. President try and look into this matter and if possible get the side of the doctor to see how best to get your new APC party out of this type of scandal. Governance is not only about giving speeches at international podiums, it is also about ensuring that the property of hard working citizens who have served this country is protected, especially people who have served the party.

I, and together with a lot of other Sierra Leoneans believe that President Koroma should really start acting now by ensuring that the matters that are closest to the people are properly looked into.

I hope this matter between Dr. Abdallah and Mr. Victor Foh should be looked into to ensure that the truth prevails.

Yours sincerely,
Martin Marah, Wilkinson Rd.
