In spite of his unique loss in the contest for flag bearer of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara continues to fulfill some of his campaign promises.
Our reporter visited the home community of Usman Boie Kamara at Magazine Cut in the eastern part of Freetown, where petty traders and youth of the environ were sweating over the completion of the construction of a 400 meters road construction at the intersection of Magazine Cut through Martin Street and Magazine Street respectively.
Speaking to the Head of the Market Women, Haja Umu, she showered enormous blessings to Usu Boie and family for showcasing a unique example to politicians and big business tycoons in Sierra Leone.
She revealed that Usu Boie promised to give the people of Sierra Leone good roads and development across the country at a time he was aspiring to be the flag bearer of his party, and even after losing the election to Julius Maada Bio, he goes on fulfilling his promise.
Haja Umu also stated that it was a Herculean task for them to keep the market area clean as it has always been unkempt and muddy.
She added however “no demand was asked from us. It was us as market women and traders that willing opted to contribute condiment towards the work…”
Foday Boie, the elder brother of Usman Boie said, “I hope that the good deeds of Usu Boie will see him take center stage in the governance of this nation.
He was in fact the supervisor of the road project. He explained that they’ve spent over a hundred and fifty million Leones to get both streets paved.
He said Usman Boie has demonstrated that he is a man of his word.
He disclosed that the work force comprises of youths in the Magazine Cut community and members of the Sweepers Association, who virtually have not been receiving any payment but rather get free medication from Umu K Drug store.
The project supervisor further disclosed that his younger brother is eventful, fulfilling promises he made to Tasso Island, Ibo town and other Communities.
Meanwhile Usman Boie is on vacation in the United Kingdom but still materializing promises he had made to Sierra Leoneans.
