Fire threatens NASSIT building

Fire threatens NASSIT building thumbnail

The headquarter auditorium hall of NASSIT got burnt yesterday 11th. In an interview with the Public Affairs Manager, Osman Foday Koroma, he said the fire started at approximately 9:15 a.m. at a time all the electrical appliances were off.

“We were informed that fire was coming from the auditorium. We then evacuated all the staff and call on the fire force,” Osman said.

“After the fire force came and put out the fire, it was established that it was one of the air conditioners that caught fire.”

“Damage occurred to the air conditioner, chairs, and projector, etc.”

He stated however that they are servicing the appliances every 2 to 3 weeks. The auditorium is a no smoking or eating area, he said.

Osman assured all that no amount of fire can damage the institution’s records, adding that, the people’s contributions, benefits and records are intact.
