Celtic’s Bangura may require surgery

Celtic’s Bangura may require surgery thumbnail

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed Mohamed Bangura may require surgery on his knee and the Sierra Leonean international could be out of action for up to 12 weeks.

The striker sustained an injury after coming on the pitch against Rennes in their UEFA cup group stage at the Robert Malek stadium last week.

Celtic is now facing serious prospects with injury problems, already Glenn Loovens is out, and Bangura waits to see a specialist on Wednesday.

Lennon is pondering his selection problems ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Communities League Cup quarter-final clash with Hibernian at Easter Road on Wednesday night .

Bangura, the 22 year-old Sierra Leonean, since his £2.2m summer move has been able to break into the Celtic squad fully and this was his seventh appearance as a replacement without a goal.

However, the Scottish giants keep their title hopes alive after defeating Aberdeen on Sunday.
