The four youngsters from Airtel Rising Stars, Sierra Leone, might be miles away their homes, but they are well and truly settling into their new surroundings in Dar es Salaam’s posh Oyster Bay neighbourhood.

On arriving in Tanzania, the stars were visibly tired after a long journey but they have been rejuvenated after interacting with fellow youngsters from other parts of Africa on a day that they moved from the Golden Tulip to the elegant Sea Cliff Hotel – Patrick Gbinda, Hamza L. Kamara, Mariatu Conteh, Rashidatu Kamara rubbed skin with Dennis Richard, Seleman Mbovu, Samir Omar, Charles John, Graham Naftali and Kassim Jungu from Tanzania, Naim Ashraf, Mzee Ali Rama, Naomi Njeri and Emily Aumafrom Kenya and Amidu Mapila and Chimwemwe Billy from Malawi, this was simply a gathering of the best from these countries local ARS competitions.
They were surely ignited by their cosy surroundings in the Sea Cliff Hotel, a hotel that has hosted a plethora of top guests ranging from Crown Prince of Norway and ex South African president Thabo Mbeki.
“I am truly happy, I feel so blessed to be here – I never knew I would be staying in such a paradise,” said Rashidatu Kamara from Sierra Leone.
Kassim Jungu from Tanzania assured his fellow youngsters that they will be a good host. The young players were soon making jokes and laughing with each other as they easily settled in with each other.
Hamza L. Kamara from Sierra Leone acknowledged that the long journey and different food on their first day was a bit of a problem, “We were tired and the food that we had was new to us but now we feel at home and apart from enjoying our food, we now feel at home with our fellow players from other parts of Africa. I am really pleased to be here and I feel more refreshed to concentrate on my football,” he said.

The players were also boosted by the arrival in Dar es Salaam of former Manchester United star, Bryan Robson who is among a group of Manchester United Soccer Schools Coaching staff that will be conducting the football clinic in Tanzania from October 30 to November 3. The former Manchester United great will talk to the press and meet with the players today.
