The German Development Cooperation and G12, in collaboration with the National Commission for Social Action (NacSA) have completed technical supervision field mission to Kailihun District, Koinadugu District and the Lumper Lorry Park in the Waterloo Rural District respectively.
The aim of the project is to enhance improved access to markets, basic economic infrastructure and the promotion of agricultural productivity to viably increase employment opportunities for youth.
The team leader, Beatrice Dueck said they are in Sierra Leone to inspect various project, talk to beneficiaries at community levels to know from them how reflective are the projects to their lives and communities.
At the Luawa –Baoma processing center in Baoma town in the Kaliahum district, the team was satisfied with development in the center.
According to the town Chief of Baoma, Pa Tengbeh Jimmy, he said however that he appreciates the donor and government for the facilities, adding that, funds provided were judiciously used.
He noted that as at present his town can produce better and high quality yield in cocoa owing because of the twenty first century equipment provided them.
Nelson Lahai who doubles as the Deputy Kailahun District Chairman said he appreciates the project report, adding that the construction of the feeder road that leads to Luawa and Upper Bambara the highest producing communities in the district
Speaking on behalf of the District Section Chief, Alhaji Alpha Bakarr Jalloh, in the Koinadugu District state that the Paddock project is of immense benefit to the community and as a whole has helped them keep away cattle thieves, derive income to help them develop as individuals and community respectively.
The GPC programme Manager NacSA, Salifu Mansaray, in his closing remarks noted that the supervision mission are not here to witch hunt, but a way of monitoring and evaluating the work on the ground .
