Residents of Jones Street and Salmon Street in Kissy east of Freetown lauded the degree of security coordination between them and management of Kissy Mess Mess Police Station.

They also gave kudos to the Kissy Police Station local partnership board chairman, Mohamed Kamara aka Med. K for his forthright performance since his taking over of responsibility.

It is a fact that in the first week of February 2012, Kissy village witnessed indiscriminate attacks by armed robbers.

Homes were reportedly attacked by robbers and valuables worth millions carted away.

In his words, the Chairman Police partnership board Kissy noted difficulties he and his team faced in trying to curb the spate of robbery attacks.

He said even professional drivers at Shell Company Kissy old road have been aiding the thieves by providing with vehicles to convey stolen items to unknown destinations.

He said some renowned drivers are members in the cabal of house breakers and night thieves.

“As proactive as personnel of Kissy Police Station, we wasted no time but put measures in place thereby resisting and arresting a number of armed robbers though,” Med K said.

“We expect to arrest more so as to provide a sound and peaceful night for residents of Kissy.”
