Case IH Sponsors Africa Sugar Outlook Conference thumbnail

LUGANO, Switzerland (March 12, 2012) – Case IH is the official sponsor of the second Africa Sugar Outlook Conference that will take place from March 14th to 16th in Nairobi, Kenya and will be attended by heads of international sugar industry bodies and professionals from Africa, Europe, Brazil, India and the Middle East.

The three-day event will explore opportunities for developing Africa’s sugar market, discuss trade and financing policy, examine how sugar production efficiency can be improved and review best practices in sugar based ethanol and co-generation projects.

Case IH, the originator of sugar cane harvesting technology and a world leader in cane harvesting solutions with over 50 years of experience in this sector, will speak about the mechanization of sugar cane production. Among the topics it will touch upon are the impact of machinery on productivity, cultivation methods that optimize moisture retention in soil, factors to consider when deciding whether to choose large or small tractors in sugar operations, the technology level most suitable for African conditions and the importance of quality technical support to minimize expensive machinery down time and maximize results.

Case IH’s sponsorship and participation to this event reflects its continued commitment to the sugar industry. Recognized as a global provider of powerful, specialized and highly productive agricultural equipment, Case IH offers the highest-capacity and most reliable machines in the market: the Austoft 4000 and 8000 cane harvesters. Case IH’s industry-leading harvesters are complemented by a wide range of machinery well suited to sugar cane operations. These include self-propelled sprayers, tillage and seeding complex, balers and other attachments, as well as tractors to carry out a variety of operations, from land preparation to cane haulage.
