Over passport saga – Dr Abass Bundu storms CID thumbnail

Dr. Abass went to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the capital of Freetown yesterday to make a statement regarding the bursting passport deal issue he enhanced during his days as the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister.

He confirmed to Sierra Express Media on the telephone that he was with Karro Kamara at the CID headquarters but did not comment on his particulars of statement.

Rumours doing the rounds are that Dr. Abass Bundu and his former two junta bosses, Captain Strasser and Julius Maada Bio are going to be compelled to account for state funds they embezzled during their NPRC tenure in an infamous sale of Sierra Leone’s Passport to foreign Chinese nationals.

The issue has received big media hype of late with many calling their act as corrupt and unpatriotic for which they must be made to account to the nation.

    Thanks to God, Strasser this is the APC that using you few days ago. E.B. Koroma are you a good leader saying that you don’t have blood in your hand? how much more if you were? killing Bio for power? what kind of a leader are you? I lost my twin sister in Sierra Leone war, are you ready for another one? if so, for why?

    MANY WELL-MANNERED SIERRA LEONEANS IN THE DIASPORA ARE WITH THE OPINION THAT SOME FORM OF WITCH-HUNTING POLITICS USED BY THE POWERS TO BE WILL BRING BACK OUR COUNTRY INTO CONFLICTS. WHY WAS THAT PASSPORT AFFAIRS NOT INVESTIGATED DURING TEJAN KABBA’S ERA?
    NOW THAT ELECTIONS ARE AROUND THE CORNER, IT LOOKS LIKE SOME WITCH-HUNTING IS BEING FERMENTED TRYING TO TARNISH THE GOOD IMAGE OF THE SIERRA LEONE POLICE FORCE. THE SIERRA LEONE POLICE IS INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO EVADE SUCH A FIXED-UP POLITICAL CRIMINALITY. IF THERE IS ANY CASE TO BE INVESTIGATED, I HOPE THEY WILL DO IT IN GOOD FAITH AND NOT AS IT WAS IN THOSE DAYS OF THE APC THAT BROUGHT NOTHING BUT CHAOS AND CIVIL WAR. WHY NOW?
    OUR GOOD POLICE FORCE SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF THIS POLITICAL BATTLE. THAT WILL NOT BRING ANY GOOD FOR ALL AND SUNDRY.
    WE ARE TIRED OF CONFLICTS AND WANT TO NOURISH PEACE FOR EVER.
    THE SAME APC THAT HELPED BRING SIERRA LEONE INTO A CIVIL WAR IS MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES AGAIN.
    PEACE FOR THE AVERAGE HUSTLER!!!
