One of the hot favorites to lift the Non violence and Awareness Raising Gala trophy, Wilberforce FC, were on Tuesday 17th April 2012 defeated 1-0 by Hill Station FC.
The lone goal was scored before the break and Hill Station, the victor’s played fantastic football throughout the match. Grassfield, Wilberforce, Brookfields, and Hill Station had all played 2 matches bagging 3 points respectively and final group matches will determine who qualifies to the semi finals.
MAFA FC who had won both matches has booked their semi final visa.
This afternoon Grassfield will engage Hill Station in their final group match and the winner will quality for the semi final spot.
Speaking to Sierra Express Media Sports, co-sponsors Thomas Daddy Brima and John B. Tucker said the gala is going on peacefully and matches are jam packed.
The winner of the Gala will bag the sum of four million Leones, Runners up Two Million Leones and the best behaved team will receive the sum of five hundred Thousand Leones, the co-sponsors revealed.
