Accused cross examines witness thumbnail

Mohamed Lamin Kamara on Wednesday, May 2nd appeared before Magistrate Komba Kamada of Court No 2 on a one count charge of murder contrary to law.

Fatmata Kargbo, on taking the witness stand, said that on April 1st at Mocomork Street, Hastings Village, she was in her bedroom with her husband Alhaji Mansaray when she heard Tommy Ndoko (the deceased), shouting that Mohamed Lamin was killing him.

Fatmata Kargbo further told the Court that she is a business woman selling at the Hastings Market and lived in the same house as the deceased, her mother, and the accused person, Mohamed Kamara.

She said she recalled the early afternoon of April 1st when the deceased, Tommy Ndoko was calling for help, which caused her to open her window and saw the accused person Mohamed Lamin hitting Tommy Ndoko with a sword on his left hand and left foot.

When the accused cross examined the witness, he asked her whether she knew what happened between him and the deceased, to which she replied that she did not know.

The accused further asked the witness why she thought the deceased was innocent of the any crime and insisted the deceased at his place took him for a thief.

Magistrate Komba Kamada asked the accused whether he killed the deceased to which he replied that he did.

The matter comes up again on May 29.
