In a telephone interview, head of delegation, M.S Kargbo says they will be meeting with the Saudi Hajj authorities in Mecca and Medina, adding that, the meetings will be for the Sierra Leone Hajj Mission to give feedback to the Saudi authorities on the experiences of Sierra Leonean pilgrims last year and to receive information on preparations and new policies for this year’s Hajj programme.
“We will also be inspecting hostels in both Mecca and Medina on the criteria of proximity to the holy shrines as well as conducive environment for our would-be pilgrims,” Kargbo maintained.
The NHCC is expecting about One Thousand pilgrims (1,000) to perform this year’s pilgrimage, says head of delegation, M.S. Kargbo.
This will be a significant improvement from last year, when 753 Sierra Leonean pilgrims were recorded to have performed the Hajj,” Kargbo observed.
He concluded by commending the Government of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince for its efforts and care for all pilgrims, also praising gigantic projects in the Holy Sites, as well as the expansion of the Two Holy Mosques.
