Eight community football teams within Constituency 109 namely Dworzark FC, Portuguese Town FC, Sumaila Town FC, Congo Market FC, Brookfields FC, Sorie Town FC, New England FC, and Bellia FC will compete in the much trumpeted “Say No to Violence” competition sponsored by Mr. Abdulai Sankoh will commence this Saturday 23rd June 2012 at the Dworzark Community field.
Abdulai Sankoh, a pharmacist by profession is an aspirant for the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) Party as a Parliamentarian in the coming November 17th 2012 election.
Dworzark will engage Portuguese Town FC in the opening match, while Sumaila Town FC will battle against Congo Market FC on Sunday 24th June and on Monday 25th June Brookfields FC will duel against Sorie Town FC.
Abdulai Sankoh who is widely known as “Wizard” by youths of Constituency 109 said organizing the football competition is to unite the youths within constituency 109 to desist from violence before, during and after the coming Presidential and parliamentary election slated for 17th November 2012.
Speaking to Sierra Express Media he said the competition is a round robin and the top four teams will play the semi finals and the champion will pocket the sum of Le 1 million, Runners up the sum of Le500,000 and the rest of the other teams will receive the sum of Le300,000 each, he said.
There will be individual prizes such as Boot, Glove, Ball and Trophy for Highest Goal Scorer, Best player, Best midfielder and Best Goalkeeper, he assured.
Sankoh who is a philanthropist and known for developmental oriented within constituency 109 said only Two Premiership players are allowed to play per team in each match and that only players with NEC registration slip are allowed to compete in the competition, he said.
Concluding, he said all modalities including security have been put in place for a successful completion, he boasted.
