Aspiring candidate for the Freetown Mayorship under the political umbrella of the All People’s Congress Party (APC), Pastor Bankole Gibson, has over the weekend paid a courtesy call to the Kissy community expressing his desire to change the condition of his people if voted into office in the November polls.
Mr. Bankole who is an ordained pastor recently expressed his political ambition to go for the mayorship of the Freetown Municipality. He was received by a mammoth crowd at the Kissy Community, chanting supporting songs for the aspiring Reverend with the slogan “the anointed one”.
Constituency Chairman for APC, Yayah Mansaray told residents of the Kissy Community that the gathering was aimed at sensitizing the community about the values of their votes in the coming elections.
Another renowned personality in the Kissy community, Sheik Abdul Karim, registered with dismay the action of past and present Honorable members of Parliament who he said failed to live to their expectations. He pleaded with Mr. Bankole to remember the community in terms of development if he succeeds in his pursuit and even if he fails. \
Chairladies of Kissy and Susan’s Bay threw their support behind the Reverend promising to garner support for him in their various communities.
Sulaiman Bah spokesperson on behalf of youths in the community declared the youths’ support on behalf of his colleagues to the aspiring mayor. He said they foresee in the Reverend the make up of a political figure who will actualize the realities of bringing good roads, jobs and training centres, which have over the years served as a hindrance to developments of their communities.
Mr. Bankole, thanked members of the community for lending him their kind support. He promised the people that if they vote him into office, he will work in accordance with President Koroma’s Agenda for Change. He said he is inspired by the Almighty God to take the political limelight in helping out his people by improving the infrastructural condition of the Freetown Municipality.
Chief Alimamy Sesay said his blessing is upon the man of God and prays that Pastor Gibson wins the Mayorship seat in the city stating that he is the type of personality Sierra Leone needs for development.
