The Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Richard Conteh (in photo) has demonstrated his magnanimous character once again by donating 100 bags of cement, 3 bundles zinc, and a double trip of sand for the rehabilitation of the Lumley Market Stall.

The Public Relations Officer of the Lumley Market Women Committee who doubled as contractor of the rehabilitation project, Foday Koroma, told the minister in his appraisal visit to the site under construction that the APC executive of constituency (112) under the chairmanship of Mark Thompson had donated the sum of twenty five million Leones (Le20m) for the project to thrive on which they have exhausted.

Chairlady of the Lumley Market Women Association, Kadiatu Tarawally said the prime reason for their initiation of the project is geared towards complementing President Koroma’s Agenda for Change. She said they are faced with serious challenges to access electricity and adequate water supply for which she pleaded to the two service providers to comply with them after their completion of the said market structure.

Addressing the Market Women Association, the minister commended them for their initiative which he described as a laudable. He further reaffirmed government’s commitment in creating an enabling environment for the promotion of trade and investment in the country.
