Four community teams have qualified in the much trumpeted Abdulai Sankoh competition. The four qualifiers are Dwazak, Portuguese Town, Brookfields FC, and New England.
The inter community football competition meant only for footballers based at Constituency 109 commenced on Saturday 23rd June at the Dwazak playing field with eight community teams.
Speaking to the sponsor of the competition, Abdulai Sankoh popularly known as “Wizard” he said the purposed of organizing the competition is to bring the community people together in a common platform to desist from violence.
Abdulai Sankoh who will be aspiring for Parliamentary seat under the ruling All People’s Congress Party (APC) representing Constituency 109 said the champions will bag the sum of one million Leones, Runners-up the sum of five hundred thousand Leones and the rest of other teams will receive the sum of three hundred thousand Leones each.
Abdulai Sankoh has contributed in constructing bridges, water well, circumcise male children and help provide scholarship to school pupils in his constituency. He said the highest goal scorer, best player, best midfielder and best goal keeper will all receive prizes after the grand final.
