Football delegates across the country were angry when they listened to an exclusive interview by the Minister of Youth, Employment and Sports, Hon. Paul Kamara on Eagle Radio 101.6 Sport describing Isha Johansen, one of the FA presidential aspirants as Black Sierra Leonean while referring to another FA Presidential hopeful Rodney Michael (in photo) as White Sierra Leonean.
As if that is not enough, the Sports Minster went further to say that Isha Johanson is a better candidate compared Rodney Michael, adding he has the power to stop Rodney Michael from contesting the August 23-25 elective election.
This pronouncement has angered most football delegates across the country saying his position does not warrant him to take sides as he is supposed to be a godfather and must be independent.
By Kamara’s pronouncement that Isha has done better, then he is in the camp of Isha Johansen and sources say he wants to politicize the outcome of the election next month.
For 26 years Rodney Michael has helped promote football clubs in Bo and most of the football players are now in Europe, Asia and the USA, and there are those who have gone through their university career through the expense of Rodney Michael. He has organized coaching and referee courses, and most students have benefited scholarships for the past 20 years at his expense without him requesting payment in return.
Delegates say they heard Madam Isha Johanson referring to them across the country supporting Rodney Michael as “Jokers,” but delegates say a nationwide meeting will be held August 23-25 and then we’ll know if we are Jokers or not” adding “no amount of intimidation, embarrassment or political interference will stop us supporting Rodney.”
“Is this the way Madam Isha Johanson wants to rule us, referring to Rodney Michael another aspirant that he talks too much? Trust us she will start doing the same to us if she becomes a leader,” they angrily said.
Black or White, 37 of us delegates across the country will never betray Rodney Michael for anybody else,” they vowed.
