A recent trip by the All People Congress (APC) party stalwart, Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara to the United Kingdom has sparked jitters in the members of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
According to the SLPP online forum, “APC stalwart Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara is in the UK to seek medical attention after he was allegedly beaten by security personnel of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Musa Taraseed Tarawally.”
Friends of Alhaji Usuman Boie Kamara have reacted angrily to such an accusation pointing out such claims are baseless and malicious by the opposition party.
According to one of UBK press officers, the opposition SLPP is currently in a confused and frustrated state of mind since the departure of Usman Boie Kamara from SLPP to APC.
Elias Kamara told this press that they have been hearing and seeing a series of lies from the SLPP against their former heavyweight political icon, mainly because the opposition was dependent on Usu Boie to help them with finances to carry out their political campaigns. Since his departure from the main opposition SLPP, the party has not been able to get financial help.
In his response to such allegations, Paul, a former media officer to Alhaji Usu Boie Kamara’s campaign team, described the SLPP’s fabricated lies as a scam act and that the dynamic politician is far healthier than the SLPP flagbearar Julius Maada Bio.
According to Paul, the APC politician Usu Boie Kamara is currently in the United Kingdom visiting family and friends and attending to other personal business; he is not seeking any medical advice. He also stated that there has never been any confrontation between Usu Boie Kamara and Musa Tarawally’s security officer. Paul said, “The SLPP are warned; instead of focusing on their win-less 2012 election campaign they are turning their attention to someone who is not even contesting in the 17 November, 2012 elections.
