The Sierra Leone government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has dismissed its Consul-General in The Netherlands (Holland), Madam Sabainya Lamboi-Bandamoi with immediate effect.  (Photo: Madam Sabainya Lamboi-Bandamoi, sacked as Consul-General.)

A letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation dated, 2nd August, 2012 stated, “that after thorough perusal of documents and investigations pertaining to the transactions between the Chamber of Commerce and Mrs Lamboi-Bandamoi, she has been found wanting beyond all reasonable doubts of the alleged fraud.

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has therefore directed a revocation of the appointment of Lady Sabainya Lamboi-Bandamoi as Honorary Consul-General with immediate effect”.

It would be recalled that in June this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received a Letter of Complaint from the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce alleging that Madam Sabainya Lamboi-Bandamoi had defraud the Chamber of the sum 8,050 Euros (Eight Thousand and Fifty Euros), by receiving the said money to register participants from Sierra Leone to a Trade Fair in The Netherlands (Holland) that never materialised. Incidentally, Madam Bandamoi failed to refund the money to the Chamber after series of pleas until the Chamber was forced to forward the matter to the Ministry.
