Delegates across the country supporting FA presidential aspirant Mr. Rodney Michael (in photo) have told this press in a closed door meeting in Freetown that there is no case against their aspirant and that he is qualified to contest in this years FA Presidential election to be held in Kenema.
The campaign management told the jam packed gathering that a recent report on Facebook, written by Chernor Osuku Sesay, a fanatic campaigner of Madam Isha Johansen, and also one that is published by Cocorioko on-line, state that he is banned by FIFA from all sporting activities in Sierra Leone for belonging to sports betting company Mercury International is baseless.
According to one campaign member, he told this press that FIFA will be mad to read the report because the Association has not sent out any letter banning him. “There is a letter from FIFA to the FA which, according to him, is being kept under the carpet but the content says the matter must be resolved internally, he assured angry delegates.
He described the report as false and misleading and a cleverly contrived plot against Rodney Michael by the people against his clear chance of victory.
Mr. Rodney Michael has no business to do with Mercury International Betting Company and assured all to “stay peaceful and vote for the right candidate not based on money, or politics, but on somebody who has been working with you side by side for the past 4 years.”
“We’ll stand against any football stakeholders who want to impose people on us that we don’t want as our choice, 37 delegates across the country, vowed.
