Fullah residents in Kambia District have frowned over the decision by the District Officer in Kambia, Mr. Lahai to turn down an appointment by the Local Government of the Fullah Tribal Headman and Speaker Hassan J. Jalloh.
According to a close aide of Pa Hassan Jalloh, Jalloh was appointed as Tribal Headman on January 26, 1990 in Kambia. He maintained Pa Hassani .J. Jalloh was invited on Tuesday August 14th 2012 by the Local Government Ministry for his appointment to be renewed, but he was turned down of his authority by the District Officer Mr. Lahai claiming that the Provincial Secretary at Makeni had not received any such letter of appointment or renewal documents as claimed by the Tribal Headman.
The aide stated further that Pa Hassan Jalloh verified his documents with the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development personally to see that he was not issued a fake appointment or renewal letter.
According to reports from some people of Kambia, it is revealed that it is a usual habit of the DO in behaving in a manner that is dispelling and rude to certain people.
