Representatives of the Airtel Rising Stars of the just concluded U-17 Pan African Tournament returned home from Kenya on Tuesday 28th August after a week long participation.
The two teams Edmond Michael Foundation FC and Mahmoud FC received a standing ovation from staff of Airtel at Government Wharf where they disembarked from a ferry.
Corporate Executive of Airtel, Samuella Aboko-Cole said that Airtel appreciates the effort of the teams and hopes that in next year’s tournament the teams will do more to bring the trophy home.
Samuella expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who made the ARS Season II a success including the Ministry of Sports, SLFA, Medium Hype, Mohamed Kallon, staff of Airtel, the media and others.
The coaches of both teams thanked Airtel for giving them the opportunity to gain international exposure at youth level.
Niger emerged as the male champions while Ghana won the female category.
