Outspoken Obreh Kargbo calls for change of attitude of Leone Stars players ahead of Tunisia clash

The match is the return leg of the AFCON final qualifying round after the first leg in Freetown finished 2-2 last month.

The player made the statement in an exclusive interview with the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) just after he arrived at the El Mouradi Hotel in Tunis where Leone Stars are currently staying, preparing for the Monastir showdown.

But Kargbo didn’t name the players who he believes must change their attitude.

He said: “Some players in the team lack discipline and they’ve exhibited that in previous Leone Stars matches.

As captain I’m calling on them to change their attitude in camp and be disciplined so that we can approach the game in the right manner.”

“I have confidence in the team, we only need to change our attitude and be aware of what we are in Tunisia for and I’m sure we’ll make it,” added the outspoken Kargbo.

Kargbo himself, and USA based Kei Kamara, were suspended prior to the first leg match against Tunisia in Freetown for disciplinary reasons according to a joint statement by the Sierra Leone Football Association and Sports Ministry but, both had their suspensions lifted after they apologised.

Having drawn the first leg at home, Leone Stars now need to win or at least get a 2-2 draw at full time if they are to have a chance of reaching the AFCON finals.

This is the third time Leone Stars are visiting Tunisia after 1994 when they participated in their maiden AFCON finals and two years later when they lost to Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles 2-0 in 1998 AFCON qualifying match in Sousse.
