There has been a clarion call from well meaning Sierra Leoneans for the police to summon and obtain statement from the flagbearer and presidential candidate of the opposition SLPP on why he interrupted the motorcade of His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma in the east of Freetown past Friday 12th October.
“We want to know the intentions of Maada Bio and why he acted so disrespectfully to the head of state” people expressed resentment in unison in a vox pop conducted by this press over the weekend.
A cross section of interviewees demanded that the SLPP flagbearer must at least be cautioned for his misdemeanor because his action was deliberate and geared towards the threat of peace and stability.
The people suggest that the recalcitrant of Maada Bio was orchestrated because he flouted verbal orders from the police and even the stop signal he could not adhere to.
Some SLPP supporters that were also interviewed expressed remorse as they were not happy over the defiant attitude of their presidential candidate.
“Was it not for the divine intervention of God and the peaceful nature of the president another carnage would have erupted in this nation”, a sagely woman lamented.
