Miss West Africa International can confirm that major telecommunications company Unitel have become the official title sponsors of the International pageant event for 2013. Now only a month away, Africa’s most popular pageant will take place on the 23rd of March 2013 in Praia, Cape Verde. The event is set to witness the participation of the President and the First Lady of the country during the queens’ visit.
Nigeria was the latest country to discover its Miss West Africa queen on Saturday 23rd February in a star studded Miss West Africa Nigeria 2013 event attended by Linxxx and Vanny Reis, Miss West Africa International 2011/12. The countries participating this year will be: Gambia, Senegal, Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Mauritania, Togo, Sao Tome, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Cameroon, and Burkina Faso, plus also the Diaspora queens from Miss West Africa UK, Portugal and Holland. All will compete to be the successor of Vanny Reis, who is currently Africa’s most popular beauty queen.
In 2011 Miss West Africa Ltd gained a soaring profit from the first African based Miss West Africa International event hosted by Sass Visa Agency in The Gambia. The girls were welcomed in person by the Vice President; the honorable Ms. Isatou Njie-Saidy. This year all the finalists have been granted the privilege and opportunity to have lunch with the President of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca.
