APC gets New Name

The All Peoples Congress Party symbol has been given a new name in Kambia, 'Gbalkanasi', a Temne word which means the APC can give you a symbol today and withdraw it from you tomorrow and give it to someone else of their choice.

Speaking to Sierra Express recently in Kabbia town, former APC aspirant who has gone independent, Mohamed Sheriff, said the popular choice for the youths in Kambia was Dauda Alimamy Kamara, but the party preferred to give it to Mr. Samuel S. Sankoh the incumbent acting Chairman of the district.

He also that he two had his symbol given to Aminata Conteh to contest for Councillor in the upcoming Local Council Elections.

Both popular businessmen, Mohamed Sheriff and Santigie Kamara, have vowed to oppose the party in Kambia and throw their weight behind the Sierra Leone's People Party.

They further revealed that they are going to vote for the deposed Chairman, Osman Sheriff Fofanah of the SLPP for Chairmanship and Mohamed Sheriff the Independent candidate for the Councillorship.
