Man Batters Wife for Water

Reports of escalating domestic violence all over the country continue to be on the increase, a police source has confided to Sierra Express and women normally face two major forms of violence, namely, physical and sexual.

Reports reaching us indicate that one Adama Sesay of Kambia town was over the weekend mercilessly beaten by her husband until she went into a coma.

Salamatu Bangura who is a friend and neighbor of the woman said it all started when the husband, Abubakarr S. Sesay commonly called Snake asked his wife to fetch him water for him to have his bath.

Salamatu explained that since Adama was busy cooking and couldn’t leave at that time she pleaded with her husband to allow her to finish the cooking before she could get the water.

This excuse offended the husband who went into a rage, grabbed the lady and rained gave her heavy punches on her until she fainted.

The matter was reported to the Kambia Police who is investigating.
