Comments by the Kambia Paramount Chief, Bai Farama Bubu Ngbak III sound equivocal on our editorial independence, but we mind him not because he speaks out of nonchalance. He is a lay man indeed. The next time he won’t be this lucky.

This Chief is reportedly the brain behind anti-press freedom which his APC Party that he is so keen to defend has tied a bound to promulgate the entirety of its obstacles.

Just days ago, youths in Kambia smacked up a protest which brought radio Collenten to an abrupt halt. The youths were in dispute with the broadcast schedules on the radio with a program titled District Watch that is reviewing newspapers.

The youths said any newspaper that bears negative stories about the APC should not be reviewed.

Some times the local authorities are behind the petty smack of violence amid incitement of some sorts.
