Rokupa Hospital May Close Down
The Doctor in charge of the Rokupa Government Hospital
has said that the hospital may close down by the end of this month if urgent measures are not taken to save the institution.
Dr. Alhaji Sinneh Turay made this
disclosure to this paper at his office yesterday afternoon.
He said since he took over the hospital in 1999 to date there has not yet been any major repairs
made on the buildings, adding that they are faced with water, toilet and electricity problems.
He revealed that GOAL, a non governmental organization has agreed
to fund the project but that the contractors have since not commenced operations which have therefore left them with no option
but to close down the place until the project is completed in December this year.
Our biggest headache now is where to temporarily relocate within the community until
the works are completed, he stated.
