Express Voice of APC and Impositions
The recent
antics of the APC high command to impose on the Fullah community in Kabala a tribal headman did not come as a surprise to
some of us who are very conversant with the APC stock in trade.
And that no less a person than the Vice President himself was a
part of such an arrangement just goes to add credence to the fears being entertained by the people of this country that the
APC are back with their tricks of old.
It is however refreshing that the Fullah community have summoned the guts to call their bluff and
resolved not to recognize, work, or even listen to this chief who they describe as an impostor.
Now that they have made a
formal complaint to President Ernest Bai Koroma, we are waiting to see what he will do - whether he will go the old APC way
or do it the new APC way which he purports to the pioneering.
President Koroma needs to be told that he has a lot of old stock
APC whose spots will never change and that if he does not handle them firmly they will undo him and the party.
Already there
are cries of theft and violence all over the country, devil dancing has become a daily occurrence, provocations of opponents
widespread, lawlessness institutionalized as evidenced in the formation of the unconstitutional task forces and fiscal mismanagement
the accepted practice. The people are afraid that the APC may plunge this country back into the dark harrowing days of Siaka
Stevens and J.S. Momoh.
The only solace they have now is that we are in a democracy where we can resist APC at the polls.
