Amputee Premier League to Start in June

 

The Single Leg Amputee Sports Club will by June this year start their nationwide Amputee Premier League which will be played on a home and away basis among eight amputee teams throughout the country.

 

Speaking to Sierra Express Sports, the Public Relations Officer of the club, Mr. Albert Mustapha said they already have five teams, which have lined up for the league, adding that they are going to include three more teams for the start of this competition, which will include teams from Kono, Kailahun and Pujehun.

 

He further said that they will engage all eight teams on pre-season tours before the league commences in June and disclosed that the champion will play both the champions of Liberia and Ghana.

 

He paid tribute to Africell, UNDP, the Special Court, Rokel Commercial Bank and GTZ for sponsoring them to the Second Amputee Nations Cup hosted in Monrovia, Liberia where they won the runners-up.
