300 Gallons of Palm oil Seized
Reports reaching us
indicate that vigilant youths at Bamoi Luma, in the Kambia District on Sunday, April 20 this year intercepted a vehicle carrying
three hundred gallons of palm oil which were apparently being smuggled into Guinea. The consignment belonging to businesswoman,
Aminata Kamara, is now reported in the custody of the Kambia Police.
The Local Unit Commander of the Kambia Police Station, Chief Superintendent Frederick Foday Conteh told our
Northern Region Correspondent, Alhassan Sheriff that the palm oil will be sold to the public and the proceeds put into Government
revenue, but as we were going to press it was reported that Aminata Kamara was lobbying senior police officers in Kambia to
prevail on the LUC to release the palm oil to her.
Observers say that money has already been given to some unnamed officers for
them to talk to the LUC.
