Muslims Commemorated Islamic Ashura Day

 

The Iranian Cultural Centre, together with hundreds of Muslims, on Saturday 19th January commemorated Ashura at the International Institute of Islamic Studies College at Wilkinson Road in Freetown.

 

Addressing Muslims at the ceremony, the Iranian Cultural Consulate Mohamed Reza Gezla Sofla described Ashura as a universal period of mourning which he said should be observed by Muslims all over the World. (Read more ...)

A Seminar about Prophet Muhammad’s Life Strategies in Promoting Unity, Peace, and Solidarity


The Iranian Cultural Consulate, on Sunday 13 the January 2007, concluded a seminar about Prophet Muhammad’s strategies in promoting unity, peace, solidarity and development in the world

Stake holders, including foreign diplomats, on Sunday January 13th this year, explained about Prophet Mohammad strategies in promoting unity, peace, solidarity and development.

 

Speaking at the Miatta Conference Hall, in Freetown, during a seminar organized by the Iranian Cultural Consulate, on the theme “Prophet Mohammad’s (SNA) Llife and Strategies in Promoting Unity, Peace, Solidarity and Development,” the Iranian cultural consul, Mohamed R.G. Sofla said, this is the first month of the year in the Islamic calendar, and Muslims are normally not happy in this month because according to him this is a month that Muslims endlessly fought to restore the religion. The name for the religion of Islam is much more than just a name because it expresses a deep spiritual meaning, as well as an overall outlook on life and the concept of worship. The word "Islam" is an Arabic word, which means "complete submission to the will of Almighty God.” Other religions are named after their founders, such as Christianity and Buddhism; after a tribe or ethnic group, such as Judaism; or after a specific geographical region, such as Hinduism. The Up Bring of Children


God in His word talked about children as being arrows in his hands. They are pictured as a palace, as plants grown in their youths, and as crowns on the head and armaments to parents.
These pictures portray how very precious children are to God. Jesus Christ in a sober statement to his disciples said that any one who caused any of these little ones to stumble would face severe judgment from God. He said that it would be better to tie a milestone on the neck of somebody and get him drowned in the depth of the sea than the life of a little child. (Read more ...)

How Christmas was Celebrated at UBC


The Emmeric Young Memorial United Brethren Church (UBC) had commemorated the birth  anniversary of Christ last December 25th. The ceremony was convened at the church edifice, on Hajja Fatmata, via Baibureh Road, in the east of Freetown.
