Tourist Industry Lacks Professionals

The Dean of  the Faculty of Graduate College of Aviation; Kedron M .Koroma has said in an interview with this press that one major problem affecting the development of the tourist industry is the lack of professionals.

He was speaking ahead of one day discussion forum that his institution was expecting to convene with stakeholders to see how they can improve the current state of the tourist and transport industry.

Mr. Koroma revealed that the tourist industry in Sierra Leone is full of educationists who have the practical training but cannot implement it. We need to furnish the industry with professionals so we can move ahead, Koroma noted. He said this is what the graduate College of Aviation has embarked on over the years to train and equip Sierra Leoneans in this all important sector. He urged stakeholders, including the Government, to concentrate on the development of the manpower and the human resource of the industry as this will provide jobs and boost the economy of the state.

The Graduate College of Education will be holding a one day discussion forum with stakeholders in the Air transport and Tourist industry at their 37Brook Street, Conference room College campus on the 31st of January. The event is expected to attract representatives of Airlines, Aviation training Colleges, Government officials including the Minister of Aviation and the Director of Transport among others.
