The Iranian Cultural

of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Garrison Street in Freetown, of the 29th Anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Republic
of Iran that is being celebrated in honour of the giant strides put forward by the leader and founder of the Islamic revolution
Imam Khomeini.
Mr. Sofla said the impact of the Islamic revolution in Iran, under the leadership
of the founder Imam Khomeini cannot be over emphasized. "Imam Khomeini, during his time, inspired a lot of followers
who succeeded in establishing an Islamic state after their victory on the 11th February 1979. The 10 day
struggle to establish the Islamic Republic of Iran is referred to as the ‘10 days of Dawn’,” Sofla remarked.
Unlike other revolutions, that of Imam Khomeini had a unique system that adopted the policies
of the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW). He highlighted some of the achievements the revolution witnessed stating that Iran, under
the leadership of Imam Khomeini, was a disciplined country that adheres to the principles of fundamental human rights and
was a country that put first women empowerment and the development of education standard for all. "Today Iran is one
of the great nations in the world that has made an impact in not only science and technology, but also in the development
of its economic status,” Mr. Sofla noted.
